Blog Writing Tips

In addition to writing keyword-rich content, here are some tips to help you keep readers reading, and to keep them returning to your blog.

  • Don’t just show, show and tell.
  • Write clickable titles.
  • Make your point in the first 200 words.
  • Make your words timeless.
  • Don’t waste words.
  • Explain jargon.
  • Use descriptions in images and links
  • Use descriptions for flash, podcasts, videocasts and screencasts.
  • Present a problem, the solution and the results.
  • Originality will always win.
  • Blog paragraphs are short.
  • Use command verbs to teach.
  • Punctuate properly.
  • Teach your readers.
  • Visualize who you are writing to.
  • Write kinda like you talk.
  • Avoid screaming.
  • Write with conviction and passion.
  • If you don’t have anything to blog, don’t.
